Job Overview:

  • Provide legal support to cities, special districts, joint powers authorities, and water districts.
  • Worked on complex transactions and provided legal advice on various matters.
  • Review and draft contracts provide advice on the Brown Act, the Public Records Act, and conflicts of interest.
  • Attend public meetings and interact with public agency staff and local elected officials.
  • Utilize advanced writing and research skills to analyze legal issues and provide effective solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Duties:

  • Provide legal support to public agencies on various matters.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on complex issues.
  • Draft and review contracts, agreements, and legal documents.
  • Attend public meetings and provide legal guidance as needed.
  • Advise on compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Represent clients in legal proceedings as required.

Requirements:

  • Admitted to the California Bar.
  • Strong knowledge of Public Agency Law and related areas.
  • Advanced writing and research skills.
  • Experience with land use and planning matters.
  • Ability to work effectively with public agency staff and elected officials.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex legal transactions and provide sound legal advice.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in the State of California.
  • Any additional certifications or training in Public Law or related fields are a plus.
