Job Title:
Commercial Real Estate Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm in Stamford, CT is seeking an experienced Commercial Real Estate Associate Attorney to join their dynamic team. This position offers a collaborative environment where the associate will work closely with senior attorneys on diverse real estate transactions, including drafting, negotiating, and handling due diligence matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in commercial real estate law and financing.

Duties:

  • Draft and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, letters of intent, deeds, and other documents for commercial real estate transactions
  • Review due diligence documents, manage contingencies, and handle title objections, survey and environmental reviews, closing documents, and wire transfers
  • Coordinate and review title commitments, UCC, judgment and lien searches, surveys, site plans, and leases
  • Oversee pre- and post-closing activities, including preparation of recording/filing documents
  • Communicate effectively with clients, banks, attorneys, and other parties involved in the transactions
  • Manage the review, preparation, and negotiation of commercial leasing documentation
  • Review and negotiate lease agreements, including common area maintenance clauses
  • Handle developer agreements, approve conditions required for draw disbursements, and manage developer payments
  • Draft and review initial documentation, obtain necessary approvals and coordinate document execution

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in commercial real estate and financing
  • Experience or interest in land use and zoning transactions preferred
  • Must be admitted to the Connecticut Bar (or eligible for admission)
  • Admission to the New York and/or Massachusetts Bar is a plus
  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Active member in good standing of the relevant Bar(s)
  • Strong commitment to providing exceptional client service
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously with professionalism
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Corporate experience is desirable
  • Military experience is a plus

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Connecticut Bar (required)
  • Admission to the New York and Massachusetts Bars (preferred)
