A law firm seeks a dedicated and driven Entry-Level Immigration Attorney to join their team in Dallas, TX. This position offers an exceptional opportunity for a recent law school graduate or attorney with limited experience to gain hands-on exposure to immigration law while working alongside a talented group of professionals. As an Immigration Attorney, you will support clients in navigating the complex immigration process and will have ample room for career development.

Duties

  • Assist clients in understanding and navigating complex immigration laws and present strategic solutions.
  • Represent individuals in removal proceedings, including both detained and non-detained cases before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage a caseload efficiently, ensuring timely and accurate case processing.
  • Conduct intakes with detained individuals at detention centers, gathering relevant information for case development.
  • Prepare and file immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions.
  • Review and revise immigration applications and petitions, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations regarding changes in immigration laws.
  • Provide legal consultations to potential clients, developing a strategy based on their unique circumstances.
  • Prepare clients and witnesses for court and USCIS testimony, ensuring they are fully prepared for hearings.
  • Analyze legal issues and provide advice on possible strategies to benefit clients.
  • Prepare legal briefs and documents for various immigration cases.

Requirements

  • Experience:

    • At least 1 year of experience in immigration law (internships, clerkships, or prior work experience in immigration law is acceptable).
    • Demonstrated ability to manage a caseload and work independently.
  • Skills:

    • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
    • Ability to develop strategies in coordination with colleagues.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with clients.
    • Proficiency with Case Management Software is preferred.
    • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Must be admitted to practice law in any U.S. jurisdiction.

Skills

  • Ability to understand and explain immigration law concepts clearly to clients.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases at once.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in drafting legal documents.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and client service.
