Job Overview:

Location:

Duties:

  • Draft and prosecute patent applications related to electrical and computer science technologies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and in-house client teams to develop and implement global IP strategies.
  • Draft opinions of counsel to support patent protection and business strategies.
  • Conduct due diligence investigations, including freedom-to-operate analyses and patent landscape evaluations.
  • Provide strategic counseling through direct client interactions, advising on patent portfolios and IP protection strategies.
  • Work with high-tech clients across various industries to secure patent protection and guide their IP development.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • Must be a member of the U.S. Patent Bar.
  • At least 2 years of patent drafting and prosecution experience, ideally within electrical or computer science technologies.
  • Strong understanding of patent law, particularly as it relates to high-tech industries.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.

Education, Certifications, and Skills:

  • J.D. with admission to the U.S. Patent Bar
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of patent prosecution and drafting experience.
  • Experience with AI, machine learning, quantum computing, or other advanced technologies is a plus.
  • Strong research and writing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
