Duties:

  • Manage a caseload of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, visitation, child support, spousal support, and adoption.
  • Conduct client consultations and case assessments to understand client needs and goals.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on their rights and options in family law matters.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including petitions, complaints, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Represent clients in court hearings, mediation sessions, and negotiations.

  • Advocate for clients' interests and rights, especially regarding the best interests of the children involved.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients to provide updates and address concerns throughout the legal process.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar.
  • Minimum of 3-8 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on family law.
  • Knowledge of New York family law statutes, rules, and procedures.
  • Strong negotiation, advocacy, and litigation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
