Senior Immigration Attorney

A law firm in Fresno, CA, is seeking a Senior Immigration Attorney with 5-8 years of experience to join its team. Reporting to the Managing Immigration Attorney, the candidate will manage a caseload, interact with clients, and collaborate with the Immigration Team of Attorneys and legal assistants. The role requires expertise in immigration law, including representing individuals in removal proceedings, preparing immigration applications, and providing legal analysis.

Duties:

• Explain immigration concepts and provide strategic solutions to clients.
• Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
• Manage a workload of diverse immigration cases.
• Visit and conduct intakes with detained individuals at centers.
• Prepare various immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions.
• Review and adjust immigration applications/packets as necessary.
• Present to and work with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on changes in immigration law.
• Meet with potential clients for strategic immigration consultations and determine necessary strategies.
• Develop strategies and prepare clients/witnesses for court/USCIS testimony.
• Provide legal analysis for clients to determine potential case benefits.
• Prepare and submit legal briefs for a variety of immigration cases.

Requirements:

• 5-8 years of Immigration Law Experience.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
• Interpersonal skills of the highest caliber.
• Record of moving legal cases forward and managing a caseload.
• Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian, EOIR, Detained, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
• Experience with Case Management Software is preferred.

Education:

Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

Active Bar admission.
