A law firm seeks an experienced family law associate attorney to join its San Francisco, CA team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to handle complex domestic and international family law matters, including high-asset cases. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and case management skills, focusing on providing exceptional service to clients while contributing to the growth and success of the firm.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in various family law matters, including divorce, child custody, and high-net-worth asset division.
  • Provide legal counsel to clients, ensuring they understand their rights and options.
  • Manage case files, preparing and reviewing legal documents such as petitions, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Engage in courtroom hearings, trials, and mediations when necessary, advocating on behalf of clients.
  • Conduct legal research and draft clear, comprehensive legal briefs and motions.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, offering continuous updates and strategic advice throughout the case.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and support staff to ensure smooth case progression.
  • Stay updated on changes in family law, applying new legal knowledge to client matters.
  • Quickly adapt to new software and case management systems.

Requirements:

  • In good standing with the California State Bar.
  • Strong client communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven experience managing family law cases, including divorce and custody disputes.
  • Excellent legal research and writing abilities.
  • Courtroom experience, including hearings and trial preparation, preferred.
  • Ability to quickly learn and effectively use new software programs and case management tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the California State Bar is required.
