Associate Attorney needed for Jackson office

A law firm located in Jackson, MI, is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will handle a variety of legal tasks including preparing and executing court calls, managing motions, contested hearings, arbitrations, and trials. The role involves drafting, reviewing, and approving various legal documents. Both experienced and newly licensed attorneys are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and execute court calls.
• Handle motions, contested hearings, arbitrations, and trials.
• Draft, review, and approve pleadings including complaints, motions, discovery requests, and post-judgment supplemental proceedings.
• Represent clients effectively in legal proceedings.
• Conduct legal research and provide sound legal advice.
• Maintain case files and ensure compliance with legal procedures.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and other legal staff on case strategies and proceedings.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in Michigan.
• Additional law licenses in Kentucky, Indiana, and/or Ohio are considered a plus.
• Experience handling a variety of legal matters is preferred but not required for newly licensed attorneys.
