A law firm in Fort Worth, TX, is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney II to join their team. The attorney will handle defense litigation matters, with a focus on trucking defense litigation and premises liability, demonstrating strong legal skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Job Duties:

  • Manage a caseload involving defense litigation matters, primarily focusing on trucking defense and premises liability.
  • Draft, prepare, and handle pleadings, motions, orders, and legal memoranda.
  • Conduct legal research effectively and proficiently.
  • Prepare and take depositions of parties and expert witnesses.
  • Review client documents, draft case evaluations, and provide status report correspondence.
  • Handle matters from inception through trial, including participation in mediations and court appearances.
  • Interact directly with clients, claim professionals, opposing counsel, colleagues, and support staff.

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas courts; additional state admissions are a plus.
  • 3+ years of defense litigation experience, preferably including trucking defense and premises liability.
  • Knowledge of both state and federal court procedures.
  • Strong legal research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with superb organization and prioritization skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, including Excel, Outlook, and internet navigation.
