Job Overview:
A reputable law firm is seeking a dedicated and bilingual Immigration Attorney to join its team in Los Angeles, CA. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience in immigration law and be well-versed in USCIS and EOIR procedures. This position involves managing a high caseload, representing clients in court, and collaborating with a team to provide excellent legal services to the immigrant community. Fluency in both English and Spanish is required.

Location:

  • Los Angeles, CA

Duties:

  • Manage a caseload of 150+ immigration cases.
  • Prepare and review filings for USCIS and EOIR.
  • Represent clients in court, including interviews and hearings.
  • Conduct legal research and draft motions, waivers, briefs, and other litigation documents.
  • Meet with clients to discuss case strategies, set expectations, and provide legal guidance.
  • Collaborate with the legal team to ensure case deadlines are met and tasks are completed.
  • Maintain accurate and timely case notes and communication records.
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings focused on improving case outcomes.
  • Supervise and support legal staff in managing casework and client communications.
  • Work one Saturday per month as needed.

Requirements:

  • Active license to practice law in California.
  • 1-3 years of immigration law experience, with knowledge of USCIS and EOIR procedures.
  • Fluent in both English and Spanish (required).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, providing support to staff and supervising casework.
  • Reliable transportation and flexibility to work from multiple office locations if needed.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in California.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat, MS Word, Excel, and MS Outlook.
  • Ability to type at least 45 words per minute.
  • Knowledge of case management software.
  • Ability to lift and manage case files weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
