Job Overview: This role is for a mid to senior-level associate with 3+ years of employment counseling experience. The position involves supporting cross-border and global employment work for a reputable law firm. Responsibilities include advising on corporate transactions, employment agreements, employee terminations, restrictive covenants, and other aspects of employment law. Strong international counseling experience is preferred.

Location:

  • Raleigh, NC

Duties:

  • Conduct employment diligence and advise on employment aspects of corporate transactions

  • Draft and negotiate employment, retention, and related agreements

  • Advise on reductions in force and other employee terminations

  • Draft restrictive covenants and counsel on employee mobility

  • Provide employment law advice to emerging companies

  • Collaborate with global offices on international employment matters

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of employment counseling experience (domestic and/or international)

  • Experience in a direct and applicable AmLaw 100 law firm preferred

  • Strong academic background

  • Immediately transferable skills

  • Flexibility and willingness to learn

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from a nationally recognized law school

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Good business judgment

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
