Job Title: Entry-Level Immigration Attorney

Job Overview:
A law firm based in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Entry-Level Immigration Attorney to join its growing immigration practice. This position offers a unique opportunity to develop foundational experience in both detained and non-detained immigration matters, including removal proceedings and family-based applications. The ideal candidate will work closely with experienced attorneys and legal staff while managing a personal caseload and engaging directly with clients. The role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career attorney looking to build a career in immigration law within a collaborative and fast-paced legal environment.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel to clients on a wide range of immigration matters

  • Represent individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals

  • Conduct in-depth client consultations and determine case strategies

  • Draft and file family-based petitions and removal defense applications

  • Manage a caseload involving detained and non-detained clients

  • Visit detention centers to conduct intakes and gather case information

  • Review and revise immigration application packets for accuracy and completeness

  • Prepare legal briefs, affidavits, and supporting documentation

  • Collaborate with community-based organizations and law enforcement on immigration-related issues

  • Prepare clients and witnesses for USCIS interviews and court testimony

  • Participate in strategy sessions with the legal team and senior attorneys

Requirements:

  • 0-3 years of experience in immigration law

  • Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

  • Strong interest in removal defense and family-based immigration matters

  • Proven ability to manage legal files and progress cases effectively

  • Willingness to travel to detention centers as needed

  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is preferred

  • Comfortable working in a high-volume legal environment

  • Prior use of case management software is advantageous

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in good standing (any U.S. State or territory)

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Highly organized and deadline-oriented

  • Strong analytical and legal research abilities

  • Capacity for empathetic client engagement and advocacy
