A reputable law firm based in Milwaukee, WI, is seeking a full-time Workers' Compensation and Disability Attorney to join its labor and employment team. This role involves managing workers' compensation and disability cases from start to finish, including preparing legal documents, representing clients in hearings, and advising clients throughout the process. The ideal candidate should have experience in workers' compensation law and be dedicated to advocating for clients in a fast-paced, client-centered environment.

Location:

  • Milwaukee, WI

Duties:

  • Draft, review, organize, and file correspondence, pleadings, and other legal documents related to workers' compensation and disability cases.
  • Prepare documents and exhibits for hearings and depositions.
  • Represent clients at hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and depositions.
  • Provide legal counsel to clients, ensuring they are informed throughout the legal process.
  • Communicate effectively with opposing counsel to negotiate and resolve disputes.
  • Develop effective strategies by analyzing client needs and case specifics.

Requirements:

  • Currently licensed to practice law in the state of Wisconsin and in good standing.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in workers' compensation law is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Wisconsin.
