A law firm in San Francisco is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its highly respected Family Wealth practice. The successful candidate will work with high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families, privately-owned businesses, and family offices, with a particular focus on industries such as technology, real estate, finance, and food and beverage. This role offers the opportunity for autonomy while supporting the firm's Private Client Industry Group.

Duties:

  • Advise high-net-worth individuals, families, and businesses on estate planning, wealth management, and related legal matters.
  • Assist in building and maintaining client relationships, providing tailored legal solutions.
  • Work with a diverse client base, including domestic and international clients, particularly those in California’s technology, real estate, finance, and food/beverage sectors.
  • Collaborate with team members to address the unique legal and business needs of clients.
  • Draft legal documents, including wills, trusts, and estate planning instruments.
  • Stay current with changes in tax law and estate planning regulations to provide informed counsel.

Requirements:

  • 4-6 years of experience in family wealth, estate planning, or related legal practice.
  • Ability to work autonomously while managing complex client relationships and legal matters.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the California State Bar.
  • LLM in taxation is desirable but not required.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical, research, and drafting skills.
  • Excellent communication and client management abilities.
  • Ability to handle high-level and sensitive client matters with discretion.
  • Knowledge of tax law and estate planning is a plus.
