Criminal Defense Attorney

A law firm in Fresno, CA, is seeking a skilled and experienced Criminal Defense Attorney to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in handling complex criminal cases at the federal, state, and local levels and will demonstrate excellent interpersonal and analytical skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload, including client interactions and collaboration with the Criminal Defense Team of attorneys and legal assistants.
• Advise clients on their legal rights in various criminal matters and draw up relevant legal documents.
• Attend pretrial hearings on behalf of clients and provide strategic advice following each hearing.
• Represent clients in court appearances, trials, and hearings.
• Draft motions, interview witnesses, and conduct comprehensive legal research.
• Analyze probable outcomes of cases using knowledge of legal precedents.
• Manage the workload of cases effectively to ensure timely progress.
• Provide detailed legal analysis to clients to determine potential case benefits.
• Gather additional evidence to support clients' cases or to counter prosecution charges.
• Prepare clients for depositions, determine essential case strategy goals, and gather information from witnesses and key experts to support clients' positions.
• Demonstrate experience in handling complex criminal cases at the federal, state, and local levels.
• Collaborate with fellow associates, demonstrating teamwork and strategic thinking.
• Utilize bilingual skills (Spanish) to communicate effectively with clients (preferred).
• Exhibit interpersonal skills of the highest caliber for client interactions and teamwork.

Requirements:

• Proven experience handling complex criminal cases at federal, state, and local levels.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Strong analytical and research skills.
• Exceptional legal writing and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Spanish (preferred).

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the State Bar of California.
