Duties

  • Draft detailed Statements of Position in response to investigations by regulatory agencies.
  • Handle requests for additional information from investigative bodies.
  • Conduct internal investigations to address workplace issues and allegations.
  • Prepare witnesses for and participate in fact-finding conferences.
  • Represent the organization during mediations and negotiations.
  • Respond effectively to attorney demands and potential litigation threats.
  • Negotiate and finalize settlements, as needed, to resolve disputes.
  • Identify and address areas of potential risk or non-compliance in employment law.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive employment law training sessions for staff and management.
  • Collaborate with outside counsel on labor and employment-related cases.
  • Advise Human Resources and field teams on compliance with employment laws and company policies.
  • Drive key legal initiatives to completion in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Travel as required to attend meetings, mediations, or court proceedings.
  • Provide additional support for the labor and employment legal function as needed.

Requirements

  • Experience:
    • 1-5 years of experience in labor and employment law preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including employees, management, and legal professionals.
    • Excellent organizational and analytical abilities with a solution-focused approach.
    • Capable of managing multiple, concurrent responsibilities with professionalism.
    • High ethical standards and a proactive, client-centered mindset.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited institution.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction and good standing.

  • Strong negotiation, advocacy, and problem-solving skills.
