A law firm seeks a dedicated and organized attorney to join its litigation team in Addison, TX. This full-time position is ideal for candidates with 0-3 years of experience in real estate, mortgage servicing, and related litigation. The attorney will be responsible for handling a caseload of mortgage and real estate litigation matters, supporting clients such as lenders, mortgage servicers, and investors. Duties

  • Legal Research & Case Strategy

    • Analyze and research legal resources, including the Texas Constitution, statutes, judicial decisions, and legal articles, to develop case strategies.
    • Prepare legal documents such as pleadings, briefs, motions, notices, and judgments throughout the lifecycle of a case.
  • Court Appearances & Legal Advice

    • Represent clients at basic court appearances in Texas, including status conferences, dismissal dockets, and minor prove-ups.
    • Provide legal counsel to mortgage servicing clients and investors, ensuring they are informed about legal matters affecting their interests.
  • Client Relationship Management

    • Maintain professionalism and courtesy when addressing adversarial situations while providing excellent customer service both internally and externally.
    • Collaborate effectively with a team of attorneys and support staff across the litigation department and other practice areas.
  • Case Management & Compliance

    • Review and respond to debt disputes, ensuring legal compliance with state and federal notice requirements.
    • Assist with tasks such as reinstatement or payoff quotes, loss mitigation, escrow disputes, and the curative process to ensure clients receive clear titles.
  • Additional Responsibilities

    • Perform other duties as assigned by the firm, which may include assisting with other legal matters within the firm’s practice areas.

Requirements

  • Experience

    • 0-3 years of legal experience, with a preference for exposure to mortgage or banking law.
    • Ability to manage a high-volume practice and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
    • Experience with mortgage servicing and real estate litigation is beneficial but not required.
  • Skills

    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask efficiently.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective client interaction and legal documentation.

  • Work Environment
