A law firm seeks a motivated and skilled Associate Attorney to join their team in Springfield, MO. The firm specializes in commercial finance, mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, and bankruptcy law. This full-time, in-office role offers an exciting opportunity for a driven attorney to work closely with experienced partners, handling a wide variety of legal matters, including litigation, contract drafting, and transactional work. Duties

  • Work on both litigation and transactional matters, providing counsel on cases involving financial institutions, private equity firms, and other major clients.
  • Represent clients in federal and state courts, focusing on litigation related to commercial finance, bankruptcy, and mergers and acquisitions.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, motions, and discovery materials.
  • Conduct thorough legal research to support ongoing cases and provide insights for decision-making.
  • Assist in corporate reorganizations, securities transactions, cross-border dealings, and other corporate legal matters.
  • Work collaboratively with partners, contributing to case strategies and offering valuable input.
  • Participate in negotiations, settlements, and client communications, ensuring effective resolution of legal matters.
  • Handle multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
  • Embrace opportunities for pro-bono work and contribute to the firm’s community outreach initiatives.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active Bar admission or plans to sit for the February bar exam.
  • Previous experience or a strong academic background in commercial litigation, corporate law, or bankruptcy law.
  • Proficiency in legal research, writing, and document preparation.
  • Ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Capacity to manage and organize tasks efficiently while maintaining strong communication with team members.
  • Confidence to work independently and collaborate with others in a fast-paced legal environment.
  • Willingness to learn and expand legal knowledge, particularly in commercial finance, mergers and acquisitions, and bankruptcy.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active Bar admission in the state of Missouri or plans to sit for the bar exam.
