Job Overview:
A well-established and reputable law firm located in Edison, NJ, is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Attorney. The firm handles a wide variety of personal injury cases, including but not limited to auto, motorcycle, truck, and slip-and-fall accidents. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing complex personal injury cases from intake to resolution (settlement or trial) and must possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with clients and a team of legal professionals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Engage with clients to understand their legal needs and offer sound legal advice.

• Develop case strategies that aim to resolve matters efficiently and in the client’s favor.

• Review discovery documents and determine the appropriate course of action for each case.

• Take depositions and conduct oral hearings for case witnesses and experts.

• Prepare necessary documentation for case filings (handling a caseload of approximately 150 cases).

• Collaborate with legal assistants and paralegals to create comprehensive case briefs.

• Schedule and attend hearings, court appearances, and conferences as required by case demands.

• Supervise and work alongside a team of two paralegals.

• Maintain consistent communication with clients, ensuring they are informed throughout the process.

• Manage cases from start to finish with a focus on thoroughness and high-quality work.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in plaintiff’s personal injury law.

• Licensed to practice law in New Jersey.

• Proven proficiency in negotiating settlements with insurance companies.

• Extensive trial experience and case management skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software such as Smart Advocate and document management systems.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to multitask and demonstrate organizational excellence.

• Detail-oriented with a focus on confidentiality and ethical legal practice.

• Ability to travel to court as needed.

• Bilingual (Spanish/English) is preferred.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in New Jersey (NJ Bar).
