A well-established real estate law firm in California is seeking an Associate Attorney specializing in Landlord Tenant law for its Irvine office. This position involves working closely with clients, including large statewide property management companies, to provide legal guidance on tenancy issues, eviction processes, and compliance with state and federal laws. Duties

  • Review client documents and provide guidance on eviction processes
  • Offer legal advice through consultations via phone, email, and video conferencing
  • Draft legal correspondence, such as letters and notices
  • Represent clients in unlawful detainer trials in courts across Orange County, Riverside, and San Bernardino
  • Draft pre-trial motions and pleadings as needed
  • Support the practice group with project-based work and additional duties

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in civil litigation, particularly in landlord-tenant law
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent written and oral communication abilities
  • General knowledge of civil litigation procedures and landlord-tenant law

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active membership in the California State Bar

Skills

  • Experience with Lexis/Westlaw and ProLaw (preferred)
  • Background in the rental housing industry or affordable housing (preferred)
  • Jury trial experience (preferred)
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
