Job Overview

A respected law firm specializing in Health Care Law and Trial Practice is seeking an experienced and motivated Mid-Level Associate Attorney to join its team. This full-time position offers a hybrid remote work option and is available in either the Seattle or Spokane office. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience in medical malpractice, personal injury, or insurance defense litigation. The role requires a strong legal writing background, excellent oral advocacy skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.

Duties

  • Provide legal representation to healthcare providers, hospitals, nursing facilities, product manufacturers, and academic medical centers.
  • Research legal and medical topics, and prepare and file briefs, motions, and judicial pleadings.
  • Evaluate medical records, facilitate discovery, and conduct depositions.
  • Support trial preparation and participate in case management and strategy development.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, both internal and external.
  • Supervise and mentor associates and staff in a collaborative environment.
  • Continuously update knowledge of medical malpractice and insurance defense law, and pursue continuing legal education.
  • Accurately capture and record billable and non-billable work, meeting an annual billable hour requirement of 1,900 hours.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in the State of Washington.
  • Minimum 2 years of litigation experience, preferably in medical malpractice, personal injury, or insurance defense.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ProLaw is preferred.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in the State of Washington.
