Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm located in Wheeling, WV, is seeking a Global Equity Compensation and Employment Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of experience. This role offers the opportunity to join a dynamic Global Employment, Equity Compensation, and Immigration practice. The successful candidate will provide legal counsel to clients on a diverse range of equity compensation and employment issues, supporting both multinational corporations and emerging companies in the fast-paced technology sector.

Duties:

  • Counsel clients on equity compensation and employment matters, including stock options, restricted stock units, and employee stock purchase plan programs.
  • Ensure compliance with securities and foreign exchange filings related to equity compensation.
  • Advise on leaves of absence, accommodations, independent contractor classification, and employment agreements.
  • Prepare multi-country analyses and draft employment and compensation-related documents.
  • Manage global project teams and conduct multijurisdictional research.
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of analysis to clients in writing and during meetings.
  • Engage in employment agreements, handbooks, and diligence projects related to equity compensation and employment aspects of global M&A transactions.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in employee equity compensation or employment counseling, preferably with cross-border experience.
  • Strong academic credentials and exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Admission to the West Virginia State Bar is mandatory.
  • Experience with the duties outlined in this posting is highly desirable.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the West Virginia State Bar.
