Associate Attorney with 1-5 years general liability defense experience

Location:

Duties:

• Manage an independent caseload with oversight from senior attorneys.
• Draft motions, pleadings, and discovery responses.
• Conduct legal research and write memorandums.
• Attend hearings, court conferences, and mediations.
• Conduct and defend depositions.
• Attend inspections and consult with expert witnesses.
• Assist in trial preparation and participate in trials.

Requirements:

• 1-5 years of experience in general liability defense or a related litigation practice.
• Admitted to practice law in New York (Connecticut admission is a plus but not required).
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently while managing a caseload.
• Detail-oriented with excellent legal writing and research capabilities.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• New York Bar License (required)
• Connecticut Bar License (preferred but not required)

Skills:

• Proficient in drafting legal documents (motions, pleadings, discovery responses).
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong legal research skills, including familiarity with legal research tools.
• Ability to manage a caseload independently and meet deadlines.
• Experience with depositions, court conferences, and mediations.
• Ability to collaborate with senior attorneys and expert witnesses.
