Job Overview: A law firm in New York City, NY, seeks an eDiscovery Attorney with 5-10 years of experience to spearhead electronic discovery processes. The ideal candidate will lead project planning, collaborate with clients and technology providers, implement custom workflows, and manage review teams to ensure efficient and accurate outcomes.

Duties:

  • Serve as clients' primary point of contact, providing expert guidance throughout the eDiscovery process.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive project plans for each stage of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM).
  • Collaborate closely with clients and technology providers to integrate AI technology into the e-discovery platform, optimizing efficiency and accuracy.
  • Implement custom workflows tailored to each client's needs, focusing on cost reduction and speed-to-evidence enhancement.
  • Create, refine, and maintain standard documentation, including ESI protocols, Protective Orders, review protocols, training guides, and review workflows.
  • Manage review teams, offering constructive feedback and guidance to ensure industry-leading speed and accuracy.
  • Train and mentor team leads to foster a collaborative environment that addresses client and review team challenges.

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of relevant eDiscovery experience.
  • Active license in good standing with a State Bar.
  • Demonstrated ability to protect confidential Firm and client information.
  • Extensive experience in all phases of the EDRM, including identification, preservation, collection, review, and production.
  • Proficiency in conducting interviews with IT and developing/implementing preservation strategies.
  • Strong negotiation skills for ESI protocols and conducting custodial interviews.
  • Experience in drafting and testing keyword searches.
  • Document review management experience in a law firm, in-house legal department, or consulting firm.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple fast-moving projects simultaneously.
  • Flexibility to adapt work schedules to support global client engagements across various time zones.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills to deliver effective solutions to clients.

Education & Certifications:

  • A bachelor's degree (BS or BA) is required.
  • Juris Doctorate (JD) degree required.

Skills:

  • In-depth understanding of eDiscovery processes and technologies.
  • Proficiency in legal research and writing.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Advanced project management and team leadership abilities.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and eDiscovery software.
