Job Overview

A highly respected international law firm is seeking experienced mid-level associates to join its Litigation Practice Group, with a focus on Intellectual Property (IP) and patent litigation. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex, high-stakes cases involving cutting-edge technologies across a variety of industries. Ideal candidates will bring both strong legal credentials and technical knowledge, along with a demonstrated track record in patent litigation.

Location

  • San Francisco, CA

Duties

  • Lead and support all phases of patent litigation, from pre-filing investigation through trial and appeal

  • Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, and briefs

  • Conduct depositions, manage discovery, and work with technical experts

  • Participate in client meetings and contribute to case strategy

  • Collaborate with cross-office legal teams on multi-jurisdictional litigation

  • Stay current with developments in IP law and litigation trends

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience handling patent litigation matters

  • Experience representing clients before U.S. District Courts and/or the International Trade Commission (ITC)

  • Strong case management and organizational skills

  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team

Education

  • Undergraduate and/or advanced degree in one of the following or related fields:

    • Engineering

    • Computer Science

    • Chemistry

    • Biology

    • Physics

Certifications

  • Must be admitted to the Califronia Bar.

  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. patent law and litigation procedure

  • Strong research, analytical, and writing abilities

  • Technical proficiency in interpreting scientific or engineering principles
