Insurance Defense Litigation Attorney

A law firm seeks a skilled Insurance Defense Litigation Attorney to join its Baltimore office. This role focuses on defending clients in personal injury and property damage cases, with opportunities for hybrid work. The ideal candidate will have experience across various areas of litigation, including product liability, construction litigation, toxic torts defense, and premises liability. Initial training is in-office, followed by a flexible work schedule.

Duties:

• Conduct legal research on complex issues related to insurance defense cases
• Draft pleadings, motions, memoranda, and discovery documents in a timely manner
• Manage a high volume of cases, ensuring all deadlines are met
• Prepare for and attend court appearances, client meetings, and depositions
• Communicate effectively with clients to provide case updates and guidance
• Collaborate closely with other attorneys and support staff within the firm

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in insurance defense litigation
• Strong academic background with excellent research, writing, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently, with high attention to detail and organizational skills
• Preferred experience in complex general liability, professional liability, construction litigation, property damage, personal injury defense, and transportation law

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in Maryland (required)
• Admission to additional jurisdictions, such as DC, PA, or VA, is a plus

Skills:

• Proficiency in legal research, drafting, and case management
• Strong analytical skills to assess complex legal issues and develop case strategies
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and independently
