Job Overview:
A respected plaintiff-side personal injury law firm located in Lexington, KY is seeking a dedicated Associate Attorney to join its legal team. This role involves representing injured individuals in personal injury claims, offering legal counsel, and working toward favorable outcomes through negotiation and litigation. The position offers hands-on experience and leadership opportunities within a high-impact legal practice.

Location:

  • Lexington, KY

Duties:

  • Provide legal representation in personal injury matters, including workplace injuries and third-party negligence

  • Analyze case facts to determine merit, insurance coverage, value, and medical care requirements

  • Communicate with clients to understand their legal needs and provide timely guidance

  • Draft legal documents including pleadings, dispositions, contracts, and memoranda

  • Strategize and advocate for favorable case outcomes through negotiation or trial

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation

  • Develop new business through referrals and relationship-building

  • Collaborate with physicians, attorneys, and legal staff for case development

  • Review and act promptly on new potential cases to ensure proper case retention

  • Direct support staff in managing legal cases efficiently

  • Uphold ethical and professional standards in all legal proceedings

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of legal experience

  • Personal injury litigation experience strongly preferred

  • Admittance to the bar in Kentucky, Tennessee, or New Mexico

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record

  • Ability to independently manage a high-volume caseload

  • Willingness to travel locally for case-related duties

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in Kentucky, Tennessee, or New Mexico

  • Additional bar admissions in other states are a plus

Skills:

  • Strong legal research, analytical, and litigation skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities

  • High ethical standards and client-centered approach

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving proficiency

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational capacity

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative legal team

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management tools (e.g., Litify)
