Location:

Duties:

  • Manage property casualty and 1st party property cases from initial filing through resolution.

  • Supervise and mentor junior staff and attorneys.

  • Handle discovery processes, including taking and defending depositions.

  • Draft legal documents such as petitions, complaints, motions, and briefs with minimal supervision.

  • Prepare and manage cases for trial, collaborating with senior attorneys as necessary.

  • Engage in litigation strategy development to ensure successful case outcomes.

  • Learn and participate in the business side of practicing law, including client interactions and case management.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Property Casualty, 1st Party Property, or Civil Litigation.

  • Experience in managing cases in both state and federal courts.

  • Proven ability to supervise and mentor junior staff.

  • Experience handling discovery, depositions, and trial preparation independently.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Must be licensed to practice law in Illinois (additional state licenses a plus but not required).

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with an interest in learning the business side of law practice.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active and valid license to practice law in Illinois (other state licenses a plus).

Skills:

  • Expertise in Property Casualty, 1st Party Property, or Civil Litigation.

  • Strong trial preparation and courtroom experience.

  • Exceptional written communication skills for drafting legal documents.

  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
