Associate Attorney for Oakland office

A law firm in Oakland, CA, is seeking an Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will assist attorneys with legal research, preparing motions, and discovery processes. This role involves client intake, drafting legal documents, and attending depositions and court hearings. The successful candidate will have excellent research and writing skills and must be admitted to the Bar.

Duties:

• Assist attorneys with legal research, preparing motions, and conducting discovery.
• Conduct client intake to gather necessary information and assess legal issues.
• Draft letters, law and motion papers, and other legal documents.
• Attend depositions and court hearings, representing clients as necessary.
• Provide support in case preparation and strategy development.
• Collaborate with attorneys and staff to ensure efficient case management.
• Maintain accurate and organized case files and documentation.

Requirements:

• Excellent research and writing skills.
• Ability to draft and prepare legal documents, including motions and discovery requests.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Bar admission in California is required.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the California State Bar is required.
