A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney for their expanding practice in the West Midtown area of Atlanta, GA. This position focuses on creditor’s rights within the context of community association collections. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling a variety of collection matters, from pre-litigation through litigation, including garnishments and foreclosure sales. The firm offers a supportive, team-oriented environment with a strong focus on professional development.

Duties:

  • Manage a high volume of pre-litigation and litigation cases related to the collection of unpaid community association assessments.
  • Draft pleadings, including complaints, motions, and other court documents.
  • Review and analyze accounting breakdowns to determine outstanding balances and next steps.
  • Ensure compliance with court and client deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Prepare for and attend court hearings, representing clients in various stages of litigation.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients through clear and consistent communication.
  • Network with clients and other industry professionals to build the firm’s client base.
  • Advise clients on litigation strategy, post-judgment collection, and related matters.
  • Work closely with an experienced team of legal professionals for support and case management.

Requirements:

  • Must be admitted to practice law in the state of Georgia.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in creditor’s rights, collections, or general civil litigation.
  • Experience with community association collections, including foreclosure and garnishment proceedings, is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage a high volume of cases efficiently while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and clients.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Georgia State Bar.

Skills:

  • Legal research and drafting skills.
  • Strong negotiation and advocacy skills in both pre-litigation and litigation settings.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while prioritizing deadlines.
  • Knowledge of creditor’s rights and collection law.
  • Excellent client management and communication skills.
