Senior Litigation Attorney (Personal Injury)

Job Overview: A well-established personal injury law firm is seeking a highly experienced Litigation Attorney to manage complex personal injury cases. The role is based in Houston, Texas, with a focus on representing plaintiffs in a variety of personal injury claims, including auto accidents, trucking accidents, and slip and fall cases. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of managing all phases of litigation, from case inception through trial, and must have first-chair jury trial experience. Duties:

• Manage a full caseload of personal injury cases, including car accidents, trucking accidents, and slip and fall claims
• File lawsuits and draft legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and discovery
• Handle all aspects of discovery, including taking and defending depositions
• Prepare for and participate in mediations and settlement negotiations
• Lead trials as first chair, including jury selection, witness examination, and closing arguments
• Collaborate with litigation team members, clients, and experts to develop strong case strategies
• Maintain direct communication with clients, providing legal counsel and case updates

Requirements:

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in personal injury litigation, with expertise in discovery, depositions, mediation, and trial
• At least 7 jury trials as first chair to verdict
• Strong litigation skills, including trial preparation and execution
• Ability to manage a large caseload with minimal supervision
• Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
• Proven ability to work effectively with clients and legal teams
• Experience evaluating cases and counseling clients on legal options and strategies

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in the state of Texas and in good standing with the Bar
• Federal court licensure and appellate experience are a plus, but not required
