Associate Attorney (Public Defense)

A law firm seeks a dedicated and passionate Associate Attorney to join their team in Bellevue, WA. Duties:

• Represent clients in various public defense matters, with a focus on DUI and DV defense cases.
• Develop case strategies, manage caseloads, and ensure timely progress of cases.
• Provide legal counsel to clients and represent them in court hearings and trials.
• Prepare and file legal documents, including motions, briefs, and other necessary paperwork.
• Participate in regular training and professional development to enhance legal skills.
• Collaborate with colleagues and senior attorneys to effectively handle cases and provide the best legal representation.
• Maintain positive relationships with clients and other legal professionals.

Requirements:

• Licensed to practice law in Washington State (Washington State Bar Association membership required).
• Strong interest in public defense and a passion for criminal law, specifically DUI and DV defense.
• Ability to handle a full caseload and manage cases from start to finish.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, supportive environment.
• Desire to grow trial and case management skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Washington State Bar License (required).
