Job Title: Patent Prosecution And Litigation Patent Agent

Job Location: Denver, CO

Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking a skilled Patent Agent to join its growing team in the Patent Prosecution and Litigation practice. The role offers the opportunity to work within the Electrical Engineering & Software or Mechanical engineering sectors. The ideal candidate will have experience in patent prosecution, including drafting patent applications, and a solid technical background in either electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related disciplines such as mathematics or physics. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a collaborative team and gain exposure to high-profile patent litigation and prosecution matters.

Duties:

  • Draft and file patent applications for a variety of clients in the electrical engineering and mechanical sectors.
  • Provide strategic advice on intellectual property matters, including patent prosecution and portfolio management.
  • Participate in patent litigation and provide technical expertise to litigation teams.
  • Conduct patent searches and prepare patentability analyses.
  • Work closely with attorneys and clients to develop and execute IP strategies.
  • Manage and maintain communication with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) on behalf of clients.
  • Review and analyze patent office actions and provide recommendations for responses.

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of experience in patent prosecution.
  • A technical degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, mathematics, or a related field.
  • Registered to practice before the USPTO.
  • Experience with intellectual property law is highly preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical abilities.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related fields.

Certifications:

  • Registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

Skills:

  • Expertise in patent prosecution, including drafting applications and responding to office actions.
  • Knowledge of patent litigation processes and strategies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and interact with clients.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
