Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct consultations with potential clients, assess their legal needs, and secure representation agreements.
  • Provide expert legal advice and representation in various family law matters, including divorce, child custody, domestic violence, and other related areas.
  • Serve as the 1st chair in court proceedings, including trials, mediations, and depositions, ensuring that clients receive top-notch legal advocacy.
  • Mentor and train junior attorneys and support staff, fostering a collaborative and knowledgeable team environment.
  • Stay current with changes in Texas Family Law statutes and apply this knowledge effectively in case strategy and client counsel.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement firm-wide legal strategies that align with client needs and the firm’s objectives.
  • Consistently exceed performance goals, including client satisfaction, case outcomes, and business development targets.

Requirements:

  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 4+ years of experience practicing family law in Texas, with significant exposure to cases involving divorce, child custody, and domestic violence.
    • Proven track record of success in a 1st chair role in family law court proceedings.
  • Education:
    • Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensure:
    • Licensed to practice law in Texas and good standing with the Texas State Bar.
  • Skills:
    • Deep understanding of Texas Family Law statutes and their practical application.
    • Strong mentoring and coaching abilities, focusing on developing junior legal talent.
    • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts clearly and persuasively.
    • Demonstrated compassion and a genuine desire to assist clients during challenging times.
