Job Overview:
A reputable law firm is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join its Property Owners Association (POA) department. This position involves conducting legal research, preparing legal documents, attending hearings, mediations, depositions, and trials. The successful candidate will manage a high-volume pre-litigation and litigation docket, while also providing guidance and supervision to paralegals and supporting legal staff.

Location:

  • Houston, TX

Duties:

  • Oversee and review pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents related to deed restriction enforcement, collection litigation, counseling, and transactional matters

  • Manage a high-volume pre-litigation and litigation docket

  • Attend hearings, mediations, depositions, and trials

  • Engage in client interaction and development

  • Coordinate workflow and supervise paralegals

  • Collaborate with POA shareholders and associate attorneys in other firm offices as necessary

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Texas

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in real estate litigation, property owners association law, deed restriction, or lien enforcement matters (preferred)

  • Proficiency in both litigation and transactional legal work is highly desirable

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Texas
