Job Overview:
A dynamic law firm in Charlotte, NC is seeking a dedicated and experienced Immigration Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in immigration court and be able to confidently represent clients in a variety of immigration-related cases, including asylum, removal defense, and family-based immigration. This role requires strong litigation skills, legal analysis, and the ability to develop and present compelling arguments in court and other legal proceedings.

Location:

Duties:

  • Provide legal representation in various immigration cases, including asylum, removal defense, and family-based immigration.
  • Prepare and file legal documents related to immigration petitions and applications.
  • Conduct client consultations and develop effective case strategies.
  • Represent clients in immigration court and before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
  • Stay updated on changes in immigration laws and policies to ensure accurate legal advice.
  • Present strong arguments in court and administrative hearings, responding to judicial inquiries and opposing counsel's arguments.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in immigration court.
  • Strong knowledge of litigation, legal analysis, and the ability to draft compelling legal arguments.
  • Ability to handle diverse immigration cases and provide effective legal representation.
  • Strong communication and client management skills.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the state bar (NC Bar preferred).

Certifications:

  • State Bar license in good standing (required).

Skills:

  • Expertise in immigration law, particularly in court settings.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Strong oral advocacy skills with experience in court presentations.
  • Ability to handle complex legal matters with attention to detail.
  • Client-focused with a compassionate approach to case management.
