Job Overview: We are recruiting on behalf of a prominent litigation boutique seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join its growing team. The firm provides nationwide litigation services and specializes in product liability, complex business litigation, class actions, and appeals. The ideal candidate will have 2-6 years of civil litigation experience and an interest in handling product liability cases, with opportunities to work across other trial litigation practice areas. This role offers a hybrid in-person/remote work environment and the potential for a remote-first arrangement based on qualifications.

Duties:

  • Identify and analyze complex legal issues across a variety of litigation cases.
  • Draft and respond to discovery requests, organize large volumes of documents, and manage case materials.
  • Draft and respond to legal motions and briefs.
  • Take and defend depositions, and assist with witness preparation.
  • Communicate frequently with opposing counsel, experts, witnesses, and clients.
  • Analyze technical and engineering documents for case preparation.
  • Respond to deposition notices, including objection handling and scope analysis.

Requirements:

  • 2-6 years of experience in civil litigation, including drafting pleadings, depositions, and motion arguments.
  • Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with attention to detail and organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to take ownership and lead on assigned cases.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar License in Michigan or Texas (or ability to waive in).

Skills:

  • Proficiency in civil litigation, including discovery, depositions, and motion practice.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective time management and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative legal team.
  • Experience working with technical documents (preferred but not required).
