Job Overview:
A reputable plaintiffs’ law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Counsel to join their expanding team in Denver, Colorado. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in handling auto accident personal injury cases and managing a team of legal professionals. This role involves leading a department within a growing practice, handling case files from start to finish, and providing legal guidance to clients while maintaining high standards of service in a fast-paced environment.

Location:

  • Denver, CO

Duties:

  • Manage personal injury case files from inception to resolution.
  • Evaluate and provide legal advice on potential personal injury claims.
  • Draft, review, and modify legal documents such as motions, pleadings, discovery responses, demand letters, subpoenas, and memorandums.
  • Conduct legal research on case law, premises liability, and gather relevant evidence such as medical records and insurance policies.
  • Communicate with clients, medical providers, insurance adjusters, expert witnesses, and supporting witnesses to gather case information.
  • Negotiate settlements and reach suitable agreements for clients when applicable.
  • Represent clients in hearings, trials, mediations, depositions, and litigation.
  • Maintain case management documentation and update case status in the system.
  • Supervise and manage a team of paralegals and legal assistants.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
  • Active membership in the Colorado State Bar.
  • 7 – 12 years of legal experience, specifically in auto accident personal injury cases.
  • Strong client-facing experience with the ability to communicate effectively with clients.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple cases, projects, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Preferred experience in mediation.
  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in Excel and case management software is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Colorado State Bar Membership (required).

  • Strong leadership skills for managing a team of legal professionals.
  • Client relationship management and negotiation expertise.
