A law firm seeks an ambitious associate to join its Securities Litigation team in New York. This role involves representing institutional investors in complex securities fraud cases, with the opportunity to work on high-profile litigation matters aimed at increasing market transparency and holding wrongdoers accountable. The successful candidate will have the chance to develop their skills in plaintiff-side litigation while contributing to significant reforms in corporate governance.

Duties:

  • Represent institutional investors in securities fraud litigation.
  • Work on complex, high-profile securities class actions and other significant legal matters.
  • Develop and implement litigation strategies to achieve precedent-setting results.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to drive cases forward, ensuring thorough legal research, drafting, and case preparation.
  • Take an active role in managing multiple cases, interacting with clients, and handling day-to-day case responsibilities.
  • Participate in settlement negotiations, hearings, and court proceedings as required.
  • Maintain strong communication with clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel, ensuring that all deadlines are met.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree required (preferred graduates from 2019-2022).
  • Admission to the New York Bar.
  • Experience in securities litigation, class actions, or other complex litigation matters.
  • Excellent academic credentials and strong professional track record.
  • Judicial clerkship experience is a plus.
  • Strong writing, research, and analytical skills.
  • Financial literacy and an understanding of securities law principles are required.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, proactive approach, and a willingness to take initiative in complex cases.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment and handle challenging legal work alongside senior attorneys.
  • Exceptional time management and multitasking abilities.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the New York Bar (or eligibility for admission).

Skills:

  • Strong financial and legal literacy with a focus on securities law.
  • Proficient in legal research, writing, and case management.
  • Ability to take ownership of cases and manage multiple complex legal matters.
