Job Overview:
A Denver-based boutique construction law firm is seeking a Transactional Attorney with 3-7 years of experience to join its team. The successful candidate will focus on drafting and negotiating construction contracts, providing legal advice, and assisting project teams with high-profile construction projects. This position offers an intellectually challenging and fast-paced work environment with opportunities to engage with leaders in the construction industry. Ideal candidates will have a passion for construction law, strong academic credentials, and excellent interpersonal skills.

Greenwood Village, CO

Duties:

  • Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of construction contracts for clients in the industry.
  • Develop strategies for achieving client goals and provide legal advice on construction projects.
  • Support project teams during the preconstruction and construction phases of projects.
  • Offer day-to-day guidance and communicate regularly with clients regarding project-related legal matters.
  • Conduct legal research and draft guidance on various construction law topics.

Requirements:

  • 3-7 years of experience as an associate attorney, with a focus on construction law or non-legal experience in the construction industry.
  • Must be admitted to practice law in Colorado, California, Arizona, or Oregon.
  • Knowledge of various project delivery methods and construction contracts, including AIA, DBIA, and ConsensusDocs.
  • Familiarity with traditional design-bid-build, CM agent, CMAR, design-build, EPC, integrated project delivery, and PPP models.
  • Strong academic credentials and excellent writing skills, with an attention to detail.
  • Interest in and working knowledge of the construction industry and related legal topics.

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the bar in one of the following states: Colorado, California, Arizona, or Oregon.

Skills:

  • Expertise in drafting and negotiating construction contracts.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage complex legal documents and contracts.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
