Job Title: Trust and Estate Litigation Attorney

Job Overview: A prestigious law firm based in Santa Rosa, CA, is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney specializing in trust and estate litigation. This role offers the opportunity to take on increasing levels of responsibility within the firm’s growing trust and estate practice, providing legal expertise in trust litigation, estate planning, and probate administration. The ideal candidate will have experience in California’s legal system and be prepared to deliver high-quality legal services while building strong client relationships.

Duties:

  • Handle trust and estate litigation tasks, including drafting legal documents, conducting research, and managing discovery and trial preparations.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships by offering personalized legal advice and ongoing support.
  • Advise beneficiaries and trustees on trust administration matters, including preparing trust accountings and ensuring compliance with trust terms.
  • Guide clients through the probate process, managing estate assets and overseeing the distribution of assets to beneficiaries.
  • Develop comprehensive estate plans, including drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives.
  • Provide tax planning advice with a focus on efficient wealth transfer strategies, including estate, gift, and generation-skipping taxes.

Requirements:

  • Active license to practice law in California with a clean disciplinary record.
  • 2-4 years of experience in trust and estate litigation or civil litigation within California.
  • Interest in or experience with related business and real property issues is preferred.
  • Ability to take on increasing responsibility and work independently or collaboratively within a team.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in California.

Certifications:

  • California State Bar License in good standing.
