A law firm in Dallas, TX, is seeking a Criminal Defense Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of criminal defense experience, with a preference for trial experience. They must be punctual, hardworking, organized, and possess excellent communication skills. The role involves representing clients in various cases, conducting client interviews, research, and analysis, as well as interacting with clients and appearing in court.

 

Duties:

  • Represent clients in a wide range of criminal cases.
  • Conduct client interviews to gather information and assess the case.
  • Conduct legal research and analyze cases to devise effective defense strategies.
  • Interpret laws for clients and explain legal options to them.
  • Aim to resolve cases quickly and favorably for clients.
  • Represent clients at arraignments, hearings, and court trials.
  • Present evidence to judges and/or juries during trials.
  • Prepare and draft legal documents, including briefs and appeals.
  • Negotiate pleas and punishments with prosecutors.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in the state of Texas.
  • Minimum of 2 years of criminal defense experience.
  • Experience in trial proceedings is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle a high caseload.
  • Comfortable appearing in court and interacting with clients.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the State Bar of Texas.
