Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its team in New Orleans, LA. This role provides an excellent opportunity for an attorney with at least three years of experience in complex litigation, including toxic tort, product liability, and environmental law. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation management, motion practice, and depositions, and will be capable of handling cases independently while working closely with senior attorneys and clients.

Location:

  • New Orleans, LA

Duties:

  • Independently manage a litigation caseload

  • Conduct depositions and argue motions in court

  • Prepare witnesses for deposition and trial

  • Review and analyze discovery requests

  • Prepare and respond to discovery responses and pleadings

  • Prepare court filings and service to counsel, including experience with e-filing

  • Provide trial preparation and support

  • Maintain accurate time records

Requirements:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in one or more of the following practice areas: general litigation, complex litigation, toxic tort liability, or environmental liability

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

  • Admitted to practice in the state of Louisiana

  • Experience with motion practice and depositions

  • Experience taking the lead in plaintiff and expert depositions

  • Capable of working independently and efficiently

  • Strong research and writing skills

  • Ability to analyze complex legal matters and multi-task

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admitted to practice law in Louisiana

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and writing skills

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

  • Excellent deposition and motion practice experience

  • Capable of analyzing complex legal issues
