Job Overview: A leading law firm is seeking a skilled Bankruptcy Attorney to join its team remotely, providing legal representation in bankruptcy matters. This role involves managing a high-volume caseload, preparing legal documents, attending hearings, and handling time-sensitive bankruptcy matters. The ideal candidate will have strong written, analytical, and oral advocacy skills, with experience in bankruptcy or mortgage servicing preferred but not required. Duties:

  • Review and execute legal documents, including Payment Change Notices, Proofs of Claim, and Post-Petition Fee Notices
  • Conduct Chapter 13 Plan Reviews and prepare legal pleadings, such as Motions for Relief from Automatic Stay and Objections to Chapter 13 Plans
  • Attend court hearings, both telephonic and in-person
  • Manage a large caseload, ensuring client expectations and deadlines are met
  • Handle escalated and urgent matters as needed
  • Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to practice law in Georgia (multi-jurisdictional admission is a plus)
  • Experience in bankruptcy law or mortgage servicing preferred
  • Chapter 11 and Adversary Proceeding experience is a plus but not required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage a high caseload in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational abilities

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active admission to the Georgia Bar (multi-jurisdictional admission preferred but not required)

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research and drafting
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
  • Knowledge of legal software tools, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Adaptability to changing workload and legal processes
