Job Overview

A law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its growing Privacy & Data Security and Litigation groups. This position offers the opportunity to work with businesses on privacy regulations, cybersecurity compliance, and litigation related to data breaches. The role is available in multiple locations with hybrid work options, allowing flexibility based on experience.

Location

Duties

  • Guide businesses and organizations in compliance with U.S. and international privacy regulations.
  • Negotiate complex transactions involving the transfer and processing of personal data.
  • Assist clients in responding to and mitigating cyberattacks and other data exposure events.
  • Defend companies in class action litigation arising from data breaches and alleged privacy violations.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to provide legal advice in privacy and cybersecurity matters.
  • Engage in legal research, writing, and communication regarding privacy law issues.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active licensure in Pennsylvania or Maryland.
  • 1-3 years of experience in privacy and cybersecurity law, ideally with exposure to litigation and regulatory matters.
  • CIPP certification (Certified Information Privacy Professional) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and driven individual with the ability to work independently.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active Bar membership in the jurisdiction of practice (Pennsylvania or Maryland).
  • CIPP certification (Certified Information Privacy Professional) is preferred but not required.
