Job Overview: A law firm in Jacksonville, FL, seeks a Tax Attorney to provide expert legal counsel in trust and estate planning, administration, and taxation. This role involves direct client interaction with high-net-worth individuals, families, family offices, closely held businesses, and national charities and foundations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert legal advice and strategic planning in trust and estate matters, including taxation implications.
  • Draft and review various estate planning documents such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives.
  • Administer trusts and estates, manage probate proceedings, trust terminations, and distributions.
  • Represent clients before tax authorities and in probate court proceedings as necessary.
  • Stay abreast of current laws, regulations, and trends in trusts, estates, and taxation to ensure accurate and informed client advice.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, understanding their goals and delivering exceptional service.

Requirements:

  • 0-3 years of experience in estate planning, corporate tax, partnership tax, and tax-exempt organizations.
  • LL.M. in Taxation from an accredited law school.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and admission to The Florida Bar.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws related to trusts and estates.
  • Excellent academic credentials with solid research, drafting, and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professionalism and a dedication to client service excellence.
