Associate Attorney Civil Litigation

A law firm seeks a dedicated and experienced Associate Attorney to join its team in Pittsburgh, PA. This full-time position is ideal for an attorney with 5-10 years of experience in civil litigation. Duties:

• Handle a wide range of civil litigation matters, including mass-tort and product liability cases.
• Conduct comprehensive legal research using resources such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw.
• Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Participate in all phases of litigation, including negotiation, settlement discussions, and trial preparation.
• Represent clients in court proceedings and depositions.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy, managing timelines, and preparing for trials.
• Maintain case files and ensure all legal requirements and deadlines are met.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
• Contribute to a positive work environment and assist with mentoring junior attorneys.

Requirements:

• 5-10 years of experience in general civil litigation.
• Experience in mass-tort litigation and/or product liability is a plus.
• Must be licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania.
• Interest in obtaining licensure in Ohio or West Virginia is preferred.
• Strong legal research and writing abilities.
• Proficient in drafting legal documents and pleadings.
• Excellent negotiation skills and experience in litigation.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and cases simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent oral advocacy and client communication skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the Pennsylvania State Bar is required.
• Ohio and/or West Virginia Bar admission is a plus or must be obtained.
