Job Overview:

The Patent Agent will collaborate with attorneys and clients across various industries, focusing on the medical device sector. They will utilize their patent prosecution experience to manage U.S. and international patent portfolios, draft and prosecute patent applications, conduct due diligence investigations, and perform freedom-to-operate and landscape analyses.

Duties:

• Collaborate with attorneys and clients in diverse industries, particularly medical devices.
• Build and manage U.S. and international patent portfolios.
• Work closely with team attorneys to identify solutions and opportunities for clients.
• Draft and prosecute patent applications.
• Conduct due diligence investigations.
• Perform freedom-to-operate and landscape analyses.

Requirements:

• 2 years of experience practicing patent preparation and prosecution.
• An undergraduate degree in engineering.
• Strong academic credentials.
• Excellent writing and analytical skills.
• Registration to practice before the USPTO.
• Technical knowledge in mechanical, electrical, biomedical, or related fields is preferred.
• An engineering and/or computer science degree.
• 2 years of experience in patent drafting and prosecution.

Education:

• Undergraduate degree in engineering.
• Engineering and/or computer science degree preferred.

Certifications:

• Registration to practice before the USPTO.
