Duties

  • Conduct legal research on commercial real estate topics, utilizing tools such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate documents, including purchase agreements, leases, and financing agreements.
  • Guide clients on property acquisition, development, leasing, and disposition matters.
  • Coordinate and oversee real estate closings and related documentation.
  • Resolve title issues, review due diligence materials, and clear title requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable real estate laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active Illinois Bar membership in good standing.
  • Preferred 0-2 years of experience in real estate law.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law institution.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Illinois.

Skills

  • Strong legal research and drafting skills, especially for real estate documents.
  • Proficiency in tools such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Lexis-Nexis, and Westlaw.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with superior organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Effective negotiation skills to advocate for clients' interests.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Knowledge of loan processes, escrow, and real estate documentation is preferred.
  • Understanding personal injury and environmental law is an advantage.
