Job Overview: A prestigious law firm is seeking a highly skilled and motivated mid-level Litigation Associate to join its McLean, VA office. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of experience in civil litigation, with a focus on managing written and e-discovery, drafting pleadings and legal memoranda, and handling depositions and hearings. Location:

Duties:

  • Manage civil litigation cases, including written and e-discovery, pleadings, legal memoranda, depositions, and hearings
  • Represent clients in all stages of litigation, from pre-trial to trial preparation
  • Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and memoranda
  • Conduct legal research and provide strategic advice to clients
  • Prepare clients for depositions, hearings, and trials
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and assist with case strategy
  • Maintain strong client relationships and communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel

Requirements:

  • 3 to 5 years of civil litigation experience in private practice or government
  • Must be in good standing with the Virginia Bar (admission to federal Virginia courts is preferred)
  • Experience with e-discovery, pleadings, legal memoranda, depositions, and hearings
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to handle complex client interactions
  • Strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in labor and employment law is a plus

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Virginia State Bar (federal Virginia courts preferred)
